Healthcare is a vitally important service, and according to the UN, a basic human right; however, hundreds of millions of people around the world today lack access to proper medical care. The topic of medical access in low-income and low-resource countries is an immensely complicated one, but it is essential that it be addressed and acted upon promptly. A number of factors play into the lack of medical access in a given country, such as a shortage of medical personnel, inefficient administrative structure etc. This year SOCHUM plans on addressing this topic.
